This is an interesting site, it covers most topics, it is fun for the kids , and it is FREE .

 http://www.starfall.com/
Starfall.com opened in September of 2002 as a free public service to motivate children to read with phonics. Our systematic phonics approach, in conjunction with phonemic awareness practice is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, special education, homeschool, and English language development (ELD, ELL, ESL). Starfall is an educational alternative to other entertainment choices for children. In May of 2009, we released our Starfall Kindergarten Reading and Language Arts Curriculum. The lesson plans motivate kindergarten children by creating an atmosphere of fun and enthusiasm, providing opportunities for child-directed instruction, and facilitating the needs of English language learners and struggling readers learning alongside their peers.

ARE YOU HOMESCHOOLING?

Being a mom is more fun than we think, we watch our babies grow but if they go to school we miss the learning part. That is why i chose home school, it is challenging but worth every second .
My advice to the moms who chose to be part of there kids learning experience, is to be ready.
Here are some tips:
- Start early while your child is still young 2-3 years old.
- Buy as many workbooks as you can.
- Make sure you have a reliable computer and a PRINTER ( you will need that to keep records).
- Create a space at home that you will call school.
- Buy educational games ( i will give you a list, look in safe games category) .
- Be organized from the beginning .
- Talk about it with your child to get him or her excited, don't forget they will have you as a teacher, how cool is that.
- Spend at least 1 hour a day in home school.
- Be flexible, don't force your child to learn, make him or her enjoy it.
Homeschooling is an amazing experience, very tough, time consuming but totally worth it.
You will need all the help you can get to make it a successful experience, that is why i created this category to make it the homeschooling source for moms.
See you next time until then be happy to be a mom.
